How do I drain all of the water from my toilet bowl?

I am planning on replacing a seal connecting my waste pipe and my toilet, but cannot seem to figure out how to "drain" all of the water from my toilet bowl. That is, without wet-vaccing it.

I have shut off the water and flushed the toilet, but some water still remains in the bowl.

I've had to do this. You'd be shocked at how effective a big sponge is at getting the remaining water out. Definetely the easiest and most effective avenue.

plunger will push most of it down for you.

This is only an educated guess, but I think if you shut the water off to the toilet then flush it, you'll empty the tank into the bowl, but the tank won't fill again. Then, if you flush it again, the water will drain out of the bowl and there will be no water in the tank to refill it. Then, I'm afraid, you will probably have to soak up anything left behind with rags or a wet vac.

If you have a wet vac use it. Otherwise you will need to sop it up with a rag or mop. The P trap will still have some water in it after.

turn off the water flush, and use a plunger a couple of times to blast the remaining water out

u should scoop it until its gone sounds nasty but whos cares

plunger and then a sponge .

Shut the water off to it and flush twice. Then use a wet/dry vac to get any extra from the bowl.
