How should I remove a sprinkler head? |
I have a fire sprinkler system in my home and I want to change one of the heads. The current one is chrome and I want to replace it with a white one to match my ceiling. Is it as simple as shutting off the water, and draining the system or is there something more to it? Joe, first you need to determine if you have a dry system or a wet system. Make sure you cut off the supply water before you start. Make sure you use a sealer or teflon tape on the head you are replacing. Don't forget to rest your system and open the supply valve when you finish. If you have any questions about doing it, it mught be better for you to hire a professional, especially if it's your first time. Sounds like you are on the right track. Make sure you pressurize the system when you are finished. I work for a commercial general contractor... |
