How can I create an adaptor to go from an air compressor nozzle into an inground pool pipe to blow the lines? |
We are buying an air compressor tonight to blow the water out of our inground pool lines to winterize it. How can I create a tight seal with the end of the compressor hose with the pipe that needs to be blown out?? Can it be put through a rubber cork, use duct tape to seal it temporarily, or is there an adaptor that you can buy to put into a pipe?? You don't have to. There is one readily available at pool supply stores (Leslie's should have it if there's one by you), or you can find them online. It is basically a version of the rubber expansion plug with a valve similar to an auto or bike tire inflation valve. There's a picture of one here... http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind... I have just used my long air nozzle and stuck it into pipe opening...then stuffed some rag around the nozzle into pipe. Use a screw driver to get it into pipe better. It will hold the seal good enough to blow out all the air. Without seeing your setup....and knowing if there is a pipe thread opening...if there is...you could always fine reducer to fit into it that also fits down to fit hose size...screw those together and hook up to compressor. |
