How does a person find a local market for unfinished clay products and a kiln, probably last used in the 50s?

The areas of Cleveland & Toldeo, OH, Detroit, MI and anything in between would be preferred.

If I understand your question correctly, you are looking to sell a used kiln and greenware/bisqueware? List them on your local craigslist under the arts and craft category. I got my potter's wheel from a seller on craigslist, he had an old kiln too but it was in bad condition so i passed on it and only bought the wheel. List the condition of the kiln correctly, like what model it is, interior chamber size, what temp it is rated for, any brick damage, does it have a kilnsetter, does it work etc. Also post a photo of the kiln for best response. There are plenty of clay newbies willing to purchase used equipment but expect a mucher lower price if your kiln doesn't have a kilnsetter or has major brick damage.

The unfinished ware you could sell as a lot.

The link below has a phone # and email link. Maybe call them and see what they can offer.

Only other thing I might suggest is to try craft stores in your area to see if they know anyone that has an old kiln. They're awfully hard to come by! And, probably not as heat effiecient either. :)
