How do you fit a bath upstairs a very small house? |
My house is a small one bedroomed terrace. The bath room has a shower only. I really miss having a bath and thought that a standard bath is impossible to fit up the stairs as very narrow. How much smaller are bath tubs made and how do you fit a bath inside your house in a tight squeeze? Also the windows upstairs are very small too. If i get a bath upstairs, the bathroom has enough space. Its just getting it in. Hi visit Ask the neighbours how they did (or did not) manage to do it. Get heavy cardboard, and make a fake bath template from a friend's house, bearing in mind that it also has depth. It's quite surprising the space you can get a bath through! Why not have a word with your local plumber. If he's removed one from somewhere, perhaps you can try a dummy run. if the space is five feet wide or less you will find that it's not as great as what you will have to pay to get it done. I had a tub that was about 4'5 and it really is just for a quick splash. Baths are not necessarily that wide, they usually sit on legs. You can buy a smaller bath...If you phone around the various Plumb Centres they will tell you where you can get one, and may suggest a decent plumber for you...Good luck.. A "small" tub measures approximately 66"X36"X22". If you can make up a cardboard box or something of this size you can see if it's possible. If you think the bathroom is long enough to take a standard bath then go to some where like B & Q , wickes explain the situation they would give you a refund if it wont fit. A standard tub is only 5 feet long, 32" wide, and only 15" high. You'd be surprised what that will fit through. I doubt your stairway is less than 15" wide...... Have you considered cutting through the roof and then having a velux skylight installed in the hole or simply closing it back up |
