How do I give a square nightstand a round top ? |
I have a small nightstand and I want to add a round top to. I would like it to be about 18 inches in diameter but I don't know where to get a round piece to attache to the top. Precut circular wood tops are available that you could finish and attach. Try Lowes or Home Depot for that. A glass one might be interesting. You can buy round precut glass tops at Target that are inexpensive. They are a about two feet across. They make glass round tops about that size that they sell for those 3 legged tables with round tops that you cover with material. You can buy the round piece at K-mart or Wal-Mart. Like I said it is glass but you could get one of those covers or not cover it and put pictures under the glass? Micheals, Home Depot, World Bazaar, Pier One, these places sell round glass ops in many sizes all pre cut Don't even think about adding a new wooden top. It will not look good, and will never match the base. I would even question the value of trying to get a new glass top. If you really can't find any pre-cut table tops to your specifications, you could go to your local carpentry store and purchase plywood. You can have them cut it to your desired shape and diameter. Then you could nail it to the existing nightstand. You could then stain/paint the nightstand and the table top in the same color so that it looks more unified. Good luck! Home Depot |
