Walls: How do I get textured walls and rounded edges on corners in my house?

Do I have to hire contractor to spray my walls with plaster or this a not-so-tricky DIY project? I love the look of textured walls. My house has many sharp corners too and would look so much better with a rounded edge to them. Thanks

You can add texture to the paint, this is the way many diy'ers do texturing. A professional will spray it from a hopper. As far as round corners, I would not recommend you try this. The corners are metal and the old corners would have to be cut out with a utility knife and all the nails removed making a mess of the drywall. Drywall mudding takes practice to get a professional job.

it,s easy to do it yourself go to home depot ,get a bucket of joint compound and a metal trowel. get some rounded corner bead . you can apply them with joint compound. put some compound on trowel, hold at angle to wall and spread. practice on a section , it scrapes off easy so don't be afraid to experiment. remember less is better , but you can add more texture by skimming with trowel right after first application. use drywall primer and then paint. the paint brings out the texture,so sometimes less is more

you must hire a contractor. its a difficult and dangerous project. but i think you can sand down the corners yourself.

no homedepot and lowes have textured paint i have it in 2 of my rooms
