What is the proper way to drill?

Me and my friend are building a fort and we dug the 2x4s into the ground and now we are drilling the 2x4s across the top (so one side looks like this |挚挚挚| ) yes but we are having trouble drilling into the corners like at this part: 挚|
see what i'm saying? the screws like go in crocked and its hard to drill like that and it doesn't look like it will hold for long... is this the correct way? If not what is? and any other suggestions for this fort to be build that may make it more sturdy?

If I am understanding the question you are asking ... try looking for a Jig, ( a device that is pre made with the correct angles and holes ) then you wont have to worry about messin up.

They make braces for drilling into corners straight.Also you probebly are not using the correct bits. You need to be using a Wood Bit,also called a Butterfly Bit. You could also use a Auger Bit. You are also drilling to close to the top,it looks to me from your little display. It is hard for anyone to drill into a corner without a bit brace or guide of some type.Don't give up.
