How do I unclog the cucumber my son flushed down the toilet?

This toilet has been plugged up for 3 days. Will it break down by itself in the water, or is there something I can put in the toilet to dissolve it? Or will some other process work?

There's nothing that I know of that will break down something that big quickly. A plumber's "snake" is one possibility; if that doesn't work, then it's probably time to talk to a plumber.

depending on how far down it went first try straightening out a coat hanger and see if you can either hook it or break it up enough to flush it down; If it is too far to reach you can rent those "snakes" at rental places which should clear it up one way or another.
As far as it breaking down by itself,? Yes it probably will in time, but as to how long is anyones guess.
Maybe some boiling hot water will help dissolve it. or pouring some Draino down the toilet.

Dissolve it with some salt and pepper followed by some creamy Italian dressing...

if your lucky it's still in the toilet if that's the case drain your boil & tank and pull the toilet then remove the obstruction you don't want to push any thing like that further down your pipes

well,try vinegar,but it will take a while to soften it,how big is it?i'm not sure pushing it on down will help,depending an how large that drain pipe is.another suggestion is ,well,it requires or to have to put your hand in side,but get a hotdog fork,long fork with 2 prongs and try to grab it that way and see if you can bring it back up. the worst situation is you may have to drain the water out of the toilet ,unbolt it ,remove it,then you should be able to retrieve the pickle

You will need a snake with a cutting tip.

It's your best bet.

I would not use a closet snake because if you push it through the commode and into the drains then you could really be in for some fun. I would take up the commode and take it in the yard and look in it from the bottom. You can most likely see the cumcumber then get a long knife or something sharp and cut it up and take a water hose to flush it in the yard. If that cucumber gets into the drain lines then a plumber could be there a little while cutting it up to get it out. Best of luck.

Get a plumbers snake , They have them with special tips that will help. I have used an electrician fish tape to push through and grab a hair clog before. Good luck.

You can buy a snake that attaches to a drill and snake it out. Get a snake that has a cutting edge to it so that it will break it into smaller pieces. This item is something every homeowner ought to have even if they don't have kids. They also make a water ram that might do the job.

Hahhahahaaha. Use a toilet auger. $10.

Mik682 and David are very wrong, the snake will scratch the porcelain permanently. Use the auger it has a snake but is shielded.
