Does anyone know how to make a gored skirt without a pattern?

If I make the hips to fit her and double the hip size for the bottom will that be big enough or do I need to make it bigger than doubled? I am making 8 gores if that helps.

These links will give you detailed instructions in how to do the math based on the number of gores that you want the skirt to have.

Hope this helps. Have fun!

If she has an old one that fits right. You can take it apart and use it for a pattern. My Mother did that for my shirts. If I had one that felt great. When it got worn, she would take it apart and make others that fit just right.

What are "gores" ?

Are you talking about a gourd?
