How long should I defrost a steak before cooking it?

I'm gonna cook it with a George Foreman Grill and I know I need to cook it, defrosted, for 8 minutes. Also, any ideas for what to add to the steak as far as flavorings and whatnot would be greatly appreciated.

You'll have your steak defrosted in half an hour just by using your GF Grill, the plates are aluminum and aluminum distributes the cold away and presto defrosted meat, I do it with anything that will fit in there. Worcestershire,S&P

I would defrost it in a pot in a sink in a zip lock bag for about an hour. Check it, if it is still partially frozen give it another half hour etc... as for seasoning, keep in mind, the more tender the cut, the less seasoning or marinating you will need. I use Emerils essence, a little salt and pepper and broil each side for about 4-6 minutes on low oven setting ( gas stove) , to make it more tender and flavor full you can add a dab of butter on top when you put it in the oven. Let it rest for five minutes when it comes out of the oven and always cut the steak against the grain . Add a slice of lemon and serve!!!

Wait until the meat is is "defrosted." That is to say, make sure that all of the meat is free from ice. If the meat has any frost or ice, it will cause it to turn out tuff.

Leave it in the fridge overnight. If that is not an option, put it in a ziploc bag in the sink filled with cold water. It will still take a couple of hours to defrost. Microwave...ick...but that is your quickest option.
The only thing a really great steak needs is a little salt and pepper. Or Montreal steak spice.
