How often do you need to feed a Christmas cake?

I made a Christmas cake yesterday, and Mary Berry's cake book says to feed periodcally with brandy. But doesn't say how often and with how much brandy. Anyone? Anyone?

Oh. Is it that time already!

Wrap cake in greaseproof paper and foil. Every two weeks bring it out and give it a tablespoon of brandy. Make holes over the cakes surface with a fine knitting needle and then dribble the brandy over. Will be just right by Christmas.

make sure it stay moist, is what they mean.

1/4 cup bi weekly (brush it on )and i inject 1/4 cup monthly.......if you dont have a injector a hypo will work or put hole i with a skewer and use a eye dropper......

It depends on the recipe. I made a cake last year and I have not needed to add any brandy as I added enough in the recipe as I baked it. It is still as delicious as the day I made it , if not more so!

when its hungry?

once a month

I can answer this one. The answer is periodically and with some brandy.

depend on how strong u want it

A good cap worth every two weeks

A christmas cake should be fed fresh milk, once every 2 hours, then burped to ensure you have no bubbles in it.

Feed a cold starve a fever, no its starve a fever and feed a cold....oh wait its drink the brandy not feed the cake. You Limeys and your Christmas Cake, here in the US we don't eat those cakes, just too fruity and cakey. I had a friend from Portsmouth send me a Christmas Cake and from what I understand it was a very good one, but it tasted gross to my family. Americans just don't like their Christmas Cake or we call it Fruitcake here.

I'd say a couple of teaspoonfulls every week or so.

keep it in a tin and use a teaspoon every week that should sort it.

I would brush it once a month with just enough brandy to slightly moisten the outside.

Keep it wrapped in greaseproof paper inside an airtight tin.

1 tsp once a week. Lovely
