What is the best way to get rid of the black that appears on my husband's shirt collars? |
I am looking for home methods and/or products that really work. BTW: In response to comment below- This is normal for shirt collars , to become dirty. and normal for your son to get the choc- all over himself, The way I can suggest you try for the choc- stains. Is first soak in cold water, then add a small amount of your dish washing detergent liquid, remove from cold water add the liquid, rub in with your finger tip麓s , Now pop into your machine on a 30潞c or 40 潞c normal wash. This should lift the stains out. For the collars of your husbands shirt I can suggest this, Good old fashioned soap bar soap,(Natural Soap) not expensive and works very well on collars and those hard to remove under arm sweat stain麓s. I use this my self for my husband麓s shirt麓s kid麓s white sock麓s, all whites . Soak the shirts in cold water, remove from the water and rub the soap into the stains, leaving the shirt free from water and the soap still on say1/2 hr. Now back to the cold water, give a rub to the stains. This time rub more soap on the stains pop the shirt with the soap still on into your machine, on a 40潞c wash, add your normal washing powder too. Once washed , hand outside in the sun, any remaining stains will bleach out by the sun the natural way, and it will also bleach your whites whiter than white , the best thing for ring around the collar is your everyday shampoo. It is made to get rid of the grease and oils from the human body. Just scrub it in with an old toothbrush. As for the chocolate stains, use shout. Spray it on both sides of the fabric (so many people forget that) and give it a light scrub with the toothbrush. Let it sit for a day or three and then wash as usual. You can also pretreat bot sides of the fabric with All stain lifter detergeant. It really gets those stains out. Just remember to let it sit for a day or two before you wash it. I'm not trying to be a smart-a$$, if your talking about his collars, have him wash his neck. try oxy bleach Here's a few lighthearted remedies Jersey mom; How about changing hubby's and son's wardrobe every now and then?
