How to remove scratches and marks from old enamel sink? |
The kitchen sink in our rented house is old and the enamel coating is thin. We've tried bleach to clean it -- but it's discolored and has marks. Are there any proprietary cleaners that are good or does anyone have tips that will make it respectable? Thanks. Get the lanlord to buy a new sink once the enamel is scratched it is not fixable unless you re enamel the sink and that is more costly than replacing it. Bleach may take most of the stains out of the sink or you may have to live with the sink if your land lord won't replace it. Try using baking soda and lemon. These two products pratically works on everything. Have you tried the cleaner 'Comet' ? That Might work..I do Know that a good way to Keep Shaving Cream cans,HairSpray cans Etc...From leaving a Ring, take Petrolium*Sp Jelly and rub around the Bottoms. Our Counter Top in the Kitchen has Stains from the Coffee Pot,Not sure how to Get that Up! Argh.Good Luck try ..... onthehouse.com ..... they may have some info thunder blast or greased lightning and comet let soak for about 30 minutes and wipe clean why beat a dead horse? If you cant get it looking bright and shiny buy a nice chearfully coloured dish pan and place it in the sink. I use comet (in the can) and those rough green scotch-brite scrub pads. Always works! |
