How do you get rid of skunk smell in your house?

My Dog got sprayed by a skunk, although we didn't know that, so we brought him in. Now, he's out of the house at the vet, but the whole house smells like skunk!!!!!! How do we get the smell away? It's not on people, but it's floating around the house! Answers please?

Mop and spray vinegar all around.Then turn on the fan til it dries.Spray the carpets well,they hold odors.That will do the trick....

We have a parade of skunks around our house every spring and fall and now I've developed allergies to their smell! Try using odor neutralizers like Oust room spray. Open all windows, put on all fans, and spray away.

Make sure your dog didn't rub up against furniture or wipe paws on floors. If you suspect even slightly that he did, shampoo and scrub these areas down.

Finally, try spraying febreeze on carpets and upholstery, if needed.
