How can I get rid of black mold that has appeared in my white grouting around my bath?

The black mold has appeared in tiny spots but is getting worse, its actually in the grouting rather than just on top? Any help would be much appreciated?

Hi all...this mold is a bit weird...I've tried scrubbing it with everything and leaving stuff on it and then scrubbing a bit more...but its like its coming from within and its actually inside it the grout? The grout is totally smooth around the bath...but its out to get me! Ahhhh! Any ideas much appreciated!

Hi there Sorry for your trouble. Tilex or bleach (which is what Tilex is) sprayed twice a day Make a paste of bleach and baking soda so that it will work longer. Mold is a living plant and must be killed. Try airing out the bathroom after using the tub or shower. A few applications and days may be needed and then once a week to keep the growth away. Have a great day.

mold is aliving plant--spray with oven cleaner and leave on 5 min. the acidic oven cleaner will physically kill the mold. oven cleaner.wear gloves and cover your mouth with a cloth when spraying-poss wear safety goggles. might also have to regrout every few years. Report Abuse

Mix up a 50/50 solution of water and bleach and put it into a spray bottle. Spray it on the whole stained area, wait about 30 minutes then spray it down or rinse it off and then wipe it clean. You can also use a scrub brush if you need some extra scrubbing power.
Make sure you ventilate the bathroom.

Get some bait....lay it at night. They're active at night. I doubt he's tunneling too deep.
Once you've caught him, he's blind by the way, release him about a mile away!

Try using an old toothbrush with a bit of bleach and give it a good scrub.

i tried ajax, bleach, EVERYTHING and NOTHING worked. finally i tried Kaboom and it all just came right off- it's the magical magical component of a spotless shower.

After treatment and clearing it up, use a mildew deterrent like tilex after showers so it is slower to come back.

There are purpose made grout cleaner for getting rid of mould avalable, usually in DIY stores! Happy cleaning!

hydrogen peroxide applied with a tooth brush will remove most of the mildew and rust spore stains.

Baking soda applied and allowed to soak in and then scrubbed off will also remove most mold and rust stains.

the best thing ll be go and see a good doc. don't take risk.

Spray it with bleach or tilex...beach is the cheaper solution...let the bleach sit on the mold for a bit, then scrub with a brush if it is really bad...sometimes all you have to do is rinse it off with water and the mold goes away...it is also a good idea to ventilate the area when using bleach...

clean it srape it and re grout it

you can get a grout pen and colour over it it usually works for some time and its cheap 2. Or you could scrub the livin daylight out of it wint some bathroom cleaner

I had the same problem in my old house, CIf was the best for removing it

definitely go for the bleach option......squirt it on, make a brew.... drink brew...then rinse bleach off!!! clean bathroom while relaxing!!! easy housework lol

I use full strength white vinegar and it works like a charm. I keep a spray bottle of it in my bath/shower and I spray the walls once or twice a week and the mold never comes back. Try it, it's safer and smells better than bleach. By the way, all the people who pay extra for Tilex or grout whiteners don't realize that the main ingredient is just bleach which you can buy much cheaper by the gallon.

If it's silicon grouting you can't. You have to remove it and apply some new stuff.

go buy tilex dep root mold remover at ur grocery store or just spray with full strength clorox

"Hi, Im Barry Scott and I'm here to tell you about Cillit Bang!"
This is actually an advert in the UK that we at work laugh about all the time (sad but true) but I've tried it and it works! Spray on and wipe off dirty old mould!
Or just don't shower and use Cillit Bang to wash with!!!
