How much does laundry weigh on average? |
I hate doing laundry with a passion. I am thinking about doing a wash and fold service every now and then and am trying to figure out whether is a mild luxury or outrageous. So I am trying to figure out for two twentysomethings who go through a fairly conservative amount of clothing (will wear jeans, pajamas more than once before washing) how much would a week of laundry weight? Any other insight into the wash and fold world would be appreciated. I would not use a cleaning service that charges by the weight. I used to work at a laundromat that charged by the amount of laundry (i.e. $10 for 3 pair of pants, 3 shirts, 3 undergarments, 3 towels, 3 washclothes) If you plan on paying by weight you can consider yourself being broke all the time. A pair of jeans can weight up to 5 lbs. If you are doing laundry for people that are in their 20's make them do their own laundry. On the average 8lbs. That is a large load and extra large around 10-12 lbs. Do you reaaly weigh your laundry? I don't know probably more than you think!!!!!!! I always figure 2 shirts are one pound. |
