How do I wash a Snow Jacket properly? |
I've borrowed a snow jacket from a friend and it was smelly and dirty. I decided to wash it. There was no washing instructions though. I put it in a really delicate cold wash yesterday with a really low spin cycle. I took it out and its been 24hrs and its still drenched. It seems to be the padding in the lining. Its all clumped up aswell. I keep trying to seperate it. Put tennis balls in the drier with the jacket, that will help it fluff up or get it dry cleaned. Take it to the launderette because they have big tumble dryers and theres lots of space for the jacket to move around. Put it on a low setting and it should be fine. Tennis balls or clean tennis shoes might do the job. I would be honest with my friend, explain what happened, and offer to compensate them for it. I wouldn't "borrow" in the future and the problems are avoided. Good luck. You should be able to put it in the dryer on a low setting. Maybe call your friend and fib a little and say that you soiled it and ask how he/she usually launders it. |
