What is the best way to get windows sparkling clean? |
I would hate to spend the afternoon cleaning windows and then see streaks!! Isn't there some kind of home recipe for window cleaner? Hot water and immonia? Also, what to use? I've heard old newspapers work. What is correct?! As I've said before, white vinegar and crumpled up newspaper is the best thing in the world for cleaning windows. I don't know why, I just know I have used it for decades and it works great. The windows don't get dirty as fast as with other methods either. Give it a try. It's cheap, environmentally friendly and won't stain if you spill some on your clothes or the carpet. The vinegar smell goes away quickly. Good luck. I have always used vinegar. I just put it in a squirt bottle, and squirt it on the windows. I have never dilluted it. I have also always used newspaper. Works great! Got this tip from my Mom. I don't think I would use the colored section, though. Good luck! ammonia is nasty and you will regret the small which does not fade. I am a professional cleaner and I use windex lime. Failing that I use half and half water / vienegar and paper towles. warm water, vinegar and a dash of dish detergent. Use a squeegee to wipe it off. Newspapers and Rubbing Alcohol Try window wax. Comes in a pink can. No more water spots for six months. |
