What is the best tasting single malt scotch you have ever had? |
If you want to add more to your answer, do you know the price of the scotch (per glass or bottle), and where you got/had it? Ardbeg ($40) is my favorite. Laphroaig ($35), Lagavulin($60), and Talisker ($40) are all also excellent. But as the previous person said, they are very peaty. You either love them or hate them. In the less peaty catagory, Highland Park ($35) is very good, especially the 18 year ($80). All of these can be a bit hard to find. Glenmorangie 18y Glenlivet. Its been so long since I bought it, I don't remember what I paid for it. Lagavulin and Laphroaig are two that my whiskey mad boyfriend loves. They are both Islay Single Malts which basically just means they were made in Islay, an island off the west coast of Scotland :) Both of them are very 'peaty' which I suppose is an acquired taste, very smooth but sort of tastes like charcoal. They are both reasonably pricey but all single malts are. |
