How can I estimate how many people will buy drinks at an outdoor festival? |
This is an outdoor event in July, open to the public. The goal is 1000 people attending. Beer, wine and spirits to be available. This is a one time event, it didn't happen last year. I've always been told that 1 drink per person per hour is a good estimate for drinks. So if the event is going to go on for four hours, then you could assume four thousand drinks. However, if it's July and it's hot where you are, I'd increase that number. In fact, I'd double it. Well it is usually the hottest in July so I would say depending on the price of the beverages of how much they will buy. If they are fairly cheap but not to cheap lol you may sell anywhere from 2 to 4 drinks per person. Most likely most all of the people that attend this event will need something to drink for a hot day and that is the only beverages they can buy then it should be successful sales. Not as many as you would think. First, scratch all the kids, then scratch all the soda drinkers, then how much you think they want to spend. I'd rather sell Diet Coke. Everybody can drink that. Get an estimation of how many people attended last year and sales amounts for the vendors... |
