How do you cure a hangover in Brighton?

Heist has a lot to answer for. Any tips on a cure?

2 litres of water and a multivitamin

After walking to the end of the pier and sticking your finger down your throat and vomiting into the ocean, go home, take two travel sickness pills, 1000 mgs Acetaminophen with half a litre of water and go to bed. DO NOT DRIVE or OPERATE MACHINERY.

3 raw eggs in a glass with pepper and hot sauce.then drink lots of water.

Whether it is Brighton or anywhere in the world a hang over is same.

An alcohol hangover is associated with a variety of symptoms that may include dehydration, tiredness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, weakness, hypersalivation, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, irritability, sensitivity to light and noise and trouble sleeping.

Possible remedies

There is debate about whether a hangover might be prevented or at least mitigated. It has been speculated that imbibing even more alcohol than consumed the night before will vanquish the hangover. The most important thing to remember though, is that there is no remedy for making yourself sober. Alcohol must be oxidized through the liver before it leaves your body, though breathing deep breaths will sometimes help it go down a bit faster since there is actually alcohol on your breath. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practice abstinence or moderation.

Potentially beneficial remedies

Rehydration,taking an extract of a prickly pear cactus fruit,
Tolfenamic acid ,Vitamin B6 (pyritinol), Chlormethiazole to lower blood pressure,Rosiglitazone

The same as you do in London.

A nice cup of black tea, and dry toast, followed by gallons of water, and a paracetamol. It works in Newcastle.

Resolve, lots of water or get drunk again

The same way you cure one anywhere else...................RESOLVE sachet of powder in a glass of water..........

Any beach side cafe that does a good fry up!

I hadn't realised that a hangover in Brighton was any different to a hangover anywhere else...

A walk along the pier always helped when we were hungover and living in Brighton. We are currently living in Swansea, and are hoping to move back to Brighton by January at the latest.

The Evening Star is the best pub in the city, closely followed by The Prince Albert (trafalgar st) and The Pedestrian's Arms, (some back road, don't ask me which one, I couldn't tell you, but I could remember how to get back there!

drink a quart of gatorade and run 2 miles.

it is harsh but gaurenteed, as I live just down the road. Get up in the morning feeling like a brass band playing in your skull, walk down to the seafront and jump in the sea, it wakes you up and clears your head, but remember to take your mobile out off your pocket or it gets expensive.

Abstinence is the only proven cure.

I haven't had the pleasure of waking with a hangover in Brighton yet, but there may be time enough to consider the possibility.


Lucozade sports drinks and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps usually cure me enough to warrant 'hair of the dog'...

wake up in dover....

Well, you got to vomit - even though you don't want to. You will feel a bit better after throwing up. After that, lay up in bed for a few hours with a cool glass of lucozade to re-hydrate your system. Alternatively, have a large glass of water with ice cubes in it next to you. Fluids are very important following a big piss up.

Turn the radio or tv down real low and make sure the room is shaded. Relax, until you feel well enough to eat something. It all depends on what you fancy. To recover, I sometimes have a can of soup & bread as my first meal. Other times I will have a big fry up or just a cheese sandwich.
