I tip my favorite barteneders $100 dollars whether I have 1 drink or a dozen, but we have known each other for 10, some 20 years, and I usually don't drink out (once a week max).

A good bartender is rare to find, and worth paying extra to. So do your best looking out for your clients, make sure they have a ride home (if that is an issue where you live), and you will quickly build a base to make enough money to live on, even if you have to move to another bar.

No definition. Bartending is the art of making people like you. My Friend makes minimum wage and tips. Depending on the night of the week, can be as high as $700.00 a night. But this is a good bartender in a busy club. Most bartenders are lucky to make $100.00 a night.

If you work in a Small town or Chain restaurant (Bennigans, Applebees, etc.) 2.13 an hour plus tips. A fine Hotel or Country Club 7.00-12.00 a hour plus tips. Key is being prompt with drinks, have a vast knowledge of shooters and mixed drinks, are personable, and most important... SMILE. Tips are how you pay bills.

it all depends on where you live. some states all tipped employees make 2.13 an hour. some states require employers to pay regular min. wage. ALL bartenders rely mostly on tips to cover all bills. thats the only thing bad about this job. i have been doing this for many years and i make decent money but sometimes you have to WORK for your money.
