Do you think Juliet is becoming a trendy name?

I am contemplating naming my daughter Juliet, However I am concerned that it is becoming to trendy. Recently I have seen it on the TV shows Lost, Dirty Sexy Money and Psych. If so do you have any other suggestions.

Nope. It is, at least for now, comfortably in the 500s and higher in terms of baby names used in the past 15 years. (581st most popular name in 2006; 586 in 2005; 648 in 2004; 602 in 2003.)

It is true that when television characters start popping up with a certain name, it can trigger an explosion. (I remember hearing a bunch of Abbys on television in the mid-90s. And you can watch Abigail, for example, rocket up the charts from 158 in 1992 - pretty rare - to 86 in 1992 - still fairly scarce - to 36 in '95; 18 in '99 and 6 last year.)

But for now, Juliet is safe. A lovely classic, truly underused and yet instantly recognizable.

It's a great name!

No I don't think Juliet is becoming a trendy name. I really haven't met anyone that named their baby Juliet. But, I do think Juliet is a nice name, but I like it spelt Juliette. I prefer Julianna to Juliette though.

i don't think it's becoming "trendy" or anything, but i do think it is a lovely name for a girl

Do you want to give your daughter a not-so-trendy name? I LOVE the name Juliet its soooooo much better than my name, (which is Catalina). If you think its too trendy give her the name Priscilla or something. Its cute and not so trendy!

Try ALESSANDRA GIULIA (pronounced as Julia) or ANGELICA ... common italian names

It is not, but it really isn't a pretty name. Chances are they would prefer to be called Julie or something different. I don't have any other suggestions except for you to pick a different name that you like. Even if it is a common name her characteristics will make that name her own.

Juliet is pretty
I like Julianne or Julianna
I also like Johannah

I wish my real name Merrick is trendy.

I don't think it is overly trendy right now. It's a Beautiful name. Go for it!

I don't think it's becoming trendy. I like the name alot. Go for it, and good luck
