What's going on with parents giving their babies names with random apostrophes? |
An apostrophe has a purpose: I know of a Da'shawn, a Cr'istal, and a Bre'anna. idk but i do not like it. nor do i like random capitalization mid name... StaCey. I know. I don't get it. I saw a name that made no sense, since it wasn't even a real name: La'Bell'a'ne. Pronounced La-Bell-uh-nay. I think Apostrophes give you a headache when you look at the name! Not a big fan of it myself. Never did understand why you would break up a name, and make it harder to spell, and make someone trying to pronounce it think it was said differently, seems a lot of trouble. It looks stupid and i really wish people would quite throwing random apostrophe's into names. I'm not a fan either... I don't think I've seen/heard names with apostrophes... Can you give some examples? ive wondered the same thing sometimes. hum.............. Oh god, i know. Isn't it annoying? I guess they think it looks french or something......I also hate when people name their kids after alcohol. Alizae, Brandy, Cristal......how cheap does that sound? Names with apostrophes in them are a HUGE pet peeve of mine. They are completely pointless and just make it look like the kid's parents were totally illiterate. heck idk I know of a girl who named her daughter bri'anne. not really sure why the apostrophe there..... ya i really don't know i mean i think accents over certain letters are okay but i don't think i would use an apostrophe just my opinion though They are out of their freakin mind! haha, I know, it looks dumb. idk maybe to make it look cute instead of boring I think it looks stupid too. These kids will never be able to go into a souvenir shop and buy things with their name on it all because of the stupid apostrophe. I don't think it makes the name unique, I think it makes it looks stupid. I guess whatever floats the parent's boats.... Because they think it's more "unique" that way. All it really does is make it confusing though. |
