Would/Did you give your children names that start with the same letter? |
My first two daughters are Amanda and Ally (Alexa), and then we stopped the A-A theme and went with Jenna for our third. Jenna was born Jennifer and the next day after we got some sleep, we changed it to Jenna, since we liked it a lot better. Their names all ending in a's was not intended, but we will continue the tradition so that no one feels left out. I didnt...(Jacob, ALexander, and Cheyenne) but my brother and his wife did....their are: John Charles, Kyle Brandon, and Laurenne Ashley.....notice its J-K-L for the first names than C-B-A for the middles...she followed the alphabet I think its kind of neat well me and brothers names both start with an 's' My girls both start with M (Madelyn and Miranda), but my son is Aidan. My father is Jesse. My mother is Jackie. My sister is Jennifer. My name is Jocelyn. My husbands name is Jeff. Our son's name is Jarrett. Our daughter's name is Jessica. And we're expecting twin boys - Josiah and Jerrod. My mum has 4 kids, all have either the first or second name starting with J.. but she swears it was coincidental... Ours are (oldest to youngest) Eoin, Bryan, Breandan, and Aigan. I wouldn't name with the same letter again - too confusing at times, especially as Dad is Bryan too. However our naming trend is to choose an Irish name. I started out to stick with a BR theme, so I named my first Brandy and my second Brandon. I chose Brett for my third, but when I saw him, he just didn't look like a Brett. So I named him Tyson. My grandma, mother, i, and my daughter all have 'M' names and all the kids on my fiances side of the family have 'D' names. I have four boys. All of their names start with a different letter.....but all of their middle names end in "son", since they are my four sons!! = ) I have the same initials as my father, grandfather, great grandfather, and so on (BB), but otherwise there are no naming trends in my family. I think naming trends for siblings are cute as long as they are not annoyingly obvious (i.e. the family with 17 "J" names!). Subtle ones are nice (ie. ending in the same letter or having the same number of letters). When it comes to naming your children just pick names you love, don't make it harder on yourself by only picking a name because it fits the trend. Your girls have beautiful names by the way, good luck! not me personally, but my cousins names are: i would start diffeerent letters because they need to have their own identity I only have 1 girl. My cousin used all same letter for her biys...Brennan, Brayden, Bryland and the her girl she named Abigail Yes, sort of. We ended up using my son's middle name as his given name, Cliff. So I wanted a "C" name for our daughter, too....ended up with Cheyenne. On paper, the C's match, but they are pronounced differently. I think it might have helped a little with my confusing and stumbling over the names when I'm trying to call them--a common complaint I hear from grandmas and other relatives when the kids names are so similar. I also wanted them named for someone in the family, which we did with their first names---my daughter's other name happens to be Jenna after her two grandmas with middle names Jean and Jeane. Hi, I have 3 kids and they all have the same first letter(D) and my boys have the same letter for their middle name also and my daughter have the same letter as i do for the middle name. I don't think that there is anything with naming them like that. some times when i want to call one of them i end up saying all of their names. I had J's my sons are Jakeob( Jacob), and Jordan and then on my third I wanted Jayson, but my husband said no more J's as our pets were Jessie and Jinx. so my third son is Kenny. Enjoy them all. No offense but I personally think it's tacky the same way I think rhyming twins names are tacky. I mean to each his own and iof you like it then that's cool, but it's just not for me. Both my girls names end in a, the short a sound. I do not think there is anything wrong with it, unless you name them all the same name like George Foreman LOL My husband's uncles are: Richard, Raymond, Roger and Ronald. His father is Robert. He is Robert Jr and his brother is Ryan. His cousins are Ronald Jr, Roger Jr and.... Zachary, lol. I fit the 'R' trend with my name and my husband wanted to continue it with our children. I said no, mostly because there were no more good 'R' names left for boys, lol. So our daughter is Aleksandra. I am 6 weeks pregnant with #2, and it will be Danica for a girl or Wyatt for a boy. I also know a family whose girl's are Janet, Judi and Jeanna. The father is Jim. I think it can get confusing sometimes. I wouldn't do it personally. Ya Kailani, Kalista, and Kaylen i know someone who named their 4 kids brent, barren, brooke, and berret. try sayin that about 6 times really fast. lol. Not me personally but I know two families where everyones name starts with a J in the one family and a D in the other family ( all relatives) I DIDN'T AND FOR A REASON I WANTED MY KIDS TO STAND OUT BE UNIQUE ARE YOU READY: I would do it, if I liked the names. For example, my first girl name will be Daphne. My fiance and I have discussed at length boy names, but can't quite agree. Our first boy will be either James or Deacon. Using Daphne first won't guarentee or prevent me using Deacon, and visa versa. I don't have kids but I wouldn't do that... but a lot of my relatives are J's. Jemma, Jackson, Joss, Jessamine. Ew. Two of the kids have the first letter E the third I gave a name that sounded like an E name but was actually an A name. My family is: I NAMED MY FIRST SON JECOBIAN AND MY SECOND JAIDEN I NAMED HIM JAIDEN BECAUSE MY FIRST ONE PASSED AWAY SO I USED THE J AND TO FIND OUT WITH MY BOYFRIENDS MOM ALL HER GRANDCHILDREN START WITH JS EXCEPT ONE SO THAT WAS COOL I know a family whose kids were my son is J.D. jr. we thought to go with another "J" name for my daughter, but we opted for "T" so that she and I could share the same initials. I really think it was a good idea, because I have a few pieces of jewelry with my initials or T's on them that she will be able to wear when she's older. yup... my first son is Aaron and my second son is AJ which is for Albert James - Dad is also Albert.... |
